Calcaneofibular ligament (CFL) Sprain Animation

This project was to show what happens when someone sprains their ankle. For this I had to gather a lot of references to accurately model all the bones in the foot and the desired ligaments that would be shown. This project required me to rig and use blend shapes in Maya.

Storyboards
This was the first and only storyboard I created for this project. While ultimately it wasn't used, it was a great jumping off point for the final animation.
Progress Shots
After all the bones had been modeled, I had had to put them together in the correct orientation with each other. To help with this process I color-coded the bones so that I would know what part of the bones would be in contact with the other bones.
Once it came to texturing, I realized that I wouldn’t need any real complex textures as the bones would not show any were and tear. So, only matte textures were needed.
